Well, with two virtually empty rooms before me, I set out to create a different and special room - a soft place to land at the end of a tough day. I think I exceeded beyond my wildest dreams. I decided on an Asian motif, as the Asian culture stresses serenity and simplicity. Here is the result.

At the end of the hallway, before entering the Master Bedroom. A Japanese Kartubu Bench atop a Persian Carpet. The picture is of a Chinese Pagoda and Cherry Blossoms.

The Picture above the Kartubu Bench. This area 'announces' the Asian theme one is about to encounter.

Cherry wood Sleigh Bed; Silk Bolster Pillows and Runner match pillows in Sitting Room. Asian Linen Duvet and Shams. The picture above the bed is called "Leave of the Beauty, before Driving." The two antique Chinese lanterns (circa 1750-1800) feature hand-painted glass in octagon setting.

The two lanterns were made with candles in mind (no electricity in the 1700s. I rigged for electric lighting without doing anything to the lanterns. Each of the sixteen glass panes is hand-painted. These were a quite a find.

The Centerpiece - Chinese Armoire, circa 1790. Amari Footbath atop, and Chinese Porcelain Ginger Jar on floor.

Hand-carved Chinese Trunk at foot of bed. "Village Scene"

Japanese "Calligraphy Chest" atop Antique Persian Carpet Runner - on wall as you enter Bedroom.

Scholars Chest in Sitting Room.

Entertainment Center - Japanese 3-Shelf unit and Japanese TV Stand.

Sitting Room - "Dance of Cranes" art work; two Japanese Lamps - "Geisha on left, and Samurai on right. Japanese Silk Pillows; antique Sake Jug.

Sitting Room - silk carpet; black lacquer Japanese Lamp; Chinese porcelain Rabbit; matching Japanese Claw-foot Tables with beautifully painted village scenes under glass.
That's the tour. I hope I have not bored you.
